Your password will be your last name in all lower-case letters in most cases. If your last name has 3 letters, often the first letter of your first name is used. For example, if your name was Library Cat than your password would be lcat. If you are still having trouble logging in, please give us a call at 316-558-3500 and we can reset it for you.

No. We are not partnered with Wichita, so their cards will not work at our location.
No. In fact, you can live anywhere in the U.S. and get a library card, you just have to come in person to sign up. Learn more here.
The Andover Public Library has passport agents available with appointment Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 3:00pm. Learn more about passports here. When you are ready to make an appointment, call us at 316-558-3500.
No, we do not have a notary. We usually recommend Andover City Hall for notary services.
Yes, we do. Our computer lab is open to the public; no library card is required. It costs $0.25 a page to print, and it prints in black and white only. If you want to print, you must print from one of the computer lab computers. Our copy machine is $0.25 for black and white and $0.50 for color. If you want to scan, you must have a USB drive.
The copy machine only takes up to $5 in dollars and change and if you are printing from a computer, you can only use a card if it is more than $1.
We do not have headphones for patrons to borrow.
We can use your photo ID to check you out, or if you know your card number, you can tell us your card number. You must have either your number or ID to check out. If you have lost your library card, it is $1.00 to replace it.
Yes, we have free public Wi-Fi. If you want to use it, ask us the front desk and we can get you the password. Our printer is not connected to Wi-Fi so you must print from one of our computers.
Yes, we have two study rooms. They are on a first come first serve basis. If you are interested in a study room, you can sign in to use it at the front desk.
DVDs, audiobooks, magazines, museum passes, and books can all go in the outside drop box. Board Games, Activity Bags, Cake Pans, and other specialty items must be returned at the front desk.
Please do not place donations in the outside drop box, we would appreciate it if you brought them inside so we can thank our generous donors.
The Andover Public Library welcomes donations of books, CDs, and movies. Unfortunately, we cannot accept magazines, textbooks or dated materials such as encyclopedias. Donations must also be in decent condition, as we will not take items that are falling apart or moldy. If an item cannot be added to our collection, we will sell the item in our book sale to raise money for our summer reading programs.
- Any Kansas resident can get an Andover Library Card. You do not need to be an Andover resident. You will need a current Driver’s License to get a library card. If your license has your correct address, then you do not need to bring anything else with you. If your license does not have your correct address, please bring an item with your name and current address printed on it. For example, checks, rental agreements, mail, or insurance cards are all acceptable items.
- The person whose name will be on the library card must be at the library at the time of registration.
- Children under the age of 16 must have a parent/guardian with a current driver’s license with them at the time of registration. Children over the age of 4 may get their own library card at their parents’ discretion.

- From the Andover Public Library website, go to Books & More from the top bar and select KanShare
- On the top right corner of your screen, click Log in to your account.
- Log in with your library card number as your username and your last name in lowercase letters as your password.
- Type your search into the Quick Library Search box.
- Once you have received the results of your search, you will see 3 buttons to the right of each listing: Availability, Full Display, and Place Request.
- Availability tells you if an item is already checked out and when it is due.
- Full Display gives you more information about the book. Also, it will give you the number of patrons who have a hold on the item.
- Place Request allows you to place a hold. If you have not already logged in, you will be asked to do so now.
- On the next screen click Submit Request.
- At this point, the website should tell you that your request has been placed. You can click on Return to Search Results to continue searching.
If we do not own a title, it may be possible to borrow it from another library in Kansas. You can request items that have been out for over 6 months. Interlibrary Loan requests can be made in person, over the phone, or online. For a link to the online ILL request form, click here.
- From the Andover Public Library website, go to Books & More from the top bar and select KanShare
- On the top right corner of your screen, click Log in to your account.
- Log in with your library card number as your username and your last name in lowercase letters as your password. You should now see your name on the left side of the screen.
- Click on your name to see which items are checked out on your card, their due dates, the books you have requested, and any fines you might have on your account.
- To renew items, click on Items Out.
- This screen will show you the titles of books that are checked out on your card, the due dates, and how many renewals are available for each item.
- An item with a 1 in the Renewals Left column (on the far right of the screen) can be renewed. An item with a 0, however, has no renewals available. Some items that cannot be renewed include DVDs, new books, activity kits, and books that have a hold placed on them.
- If there is a fine or fee on your account, you cannot renew online until the fee is paid.
- If all of your items are available for renewal, click Renew All Items at the bottom center of the screen. To renew specific items, click the box to the far left of the title you wish to renew. Once a check mark appears next to the items you wish to renew, click on Renew Selected Items at the bottom left of the screen. Items that cannot be renewed will not have a check box next to them.
- The next screen will tell you if you have successfully renewed your items. If the computer was not able to renew your items, it will tell you the reason why.
- Click on the Back button to return to the Items Out page to see your new due date.
